Spicy Shrimp Tacos

These Spicy Shrimp Tacos will bring the heat to your kitchen, transporting your senses straight to the bustling streets of Mexico. The shrimp, beautifully coated with a blend of smoky and spicy flavors, is the star of the show, while the crunchy veggies add a refreshing contrast.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
  • Lime wedges for garnish

Directions:

  1. In a bowl, combine chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  2. Add shrimp to the bowl and toss until fully coated in the spice mixture.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they’re pink and cooked through.
  5. Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side.
  6. To assemble the tacos, lay a tortilla flat and add a layer of shredded lettuce.
  7. Top with a handful of cooked shrimp, followed by diced tomatoes, diced onions, and chopped cilantro.
  8. Squeeze a lime wedge over the top of each taco just before serving.
