Classic Iceberg Wedge Salad

This timeless salad brings together the most unpretentious yet utterly satisfying ingredients into a dish that’s more than the sum of its parts. The crisp, refreshing iceberg lettuce serves as the perfect base, while the tangy blue cheese dressing lends it an irresistible depth of flavor. 

Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 head of iceberg lettuce
  • 8 strips of bacon
  • 1 cup of blue cheese crumbles
  • 2 green onions
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup of mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup of sour cream
  • 1/4 cup of milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Fry the bacon until crispy. Set aside on a paper towel to drain and then crumble.
  2. Cut the iceberg lettuce into 4 wedges.
  3. Slice the tomatoes and green onions.
  4. Combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, milk, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl to make the dressing.
  5. Season the dressing with salt and pepper to taste, then stir in half of the blue cheese crumbles.
  6. Drizzle the dressing over the lettuce wedges, then sprinkle with the remaining blue cheese, crumbled bacon, tomatoes, and green onions.
