Christmas Sugar Cookie Bars

Ingredients:

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 cup Christmas sprinkles
  • For Frosting:
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • Extra Christmas sprinkles for decoration

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and the extracts.
  4. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. Fold in the Christmas sprinkles.
  5. Spread dough evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  6. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden. Let cool completely.
